Duties:
Provide consultant care at an early stage to patients presenting to secondary care with presumed diabetes or endocrine problems.
Establish new patient pathways alongside colleagues working in the Trust emergency department and local GPs to establish direct access for patients with diabetes & endocrinology problems.
Deliver consultant review of all non-elective admissions review within 12 hours of admission in conjunction with the on call consultant
Promote early and safe discharge
Work closely with colleagues in emergency department and primary care to ensure patients with presumed diabetes and/or endocrine problems are moved rapidly for assessment.
Teaching, supervision and development of Junior doctors in the Department, medical students and non-medical staff as appropriate
Contribute to audits and ongoing research activity

Person Specification:
MBBS / MBChB or equivalent
MRCP / FRCP or equivalent
Minimum 7 years full time post graduate experience
Minimum of 2 years of continuous experience in Diabetes & Endocrinology
Consultant level experience
Full GMC registration (or eligible to secure Full GMC registration)
Good Leadership and Management skills
Efficiency in Teamwork and superior communication skills
